See the Latest Environmentally Friendly Products at the Chicago Flower & Garden Show...and Benefit Illinois' Recycling Effort
February 18, 2004, Bensenville, IL Learn about the benefits of longer-lasting home and garden products made from 100 percent recycled content at this year's Chicago Flower & Garden Show, March 13 to 21 at Navy Pier.
G.A.I.M Engineering a company dedicated to producing high-quality products that help the environment will be giving away a variety of products made from 100 percent recycled content when visitors make a small donation to the Illinois Recycling Association (IRA). G.A.I.M will also be teaching attendees about the economical and environmental benefits of using home items made from post-industrial scrap plastic the company liquefies and molds into durable goods.
Attendees who visit G.A.I.M. at the Illinois Recycling Association booth #124 can check out a slew of innovative, recycled products and walk away with useful home and garden items manufactured by G.A.I.M.
G.A.I.M. will be featuring the Bird-X SPIKES roost inhibitor, a non-lethal strip of clear plastic spikes designed to keep birds off ledges, statues and trusses, as well as The Wedge Downspout Screens and Gutter Scoops tools that keep rain gutter downspouts clear of leaves and debris.
Attendees are encouraged to stop by IRA's booth before walking the show's 170,000 square feet to pick up a complimentary TotaSak bag handler with their $2 donation to IRA. TotaSak is a comfortable hand grip that can be used to effortlessly carry up to 1,400 lbs. of trade show goodies without pinching their skin!
G.A.I.M Engineering President Skip Glatt says this show is a great venue to show consumers that there are plenty of quality, inexpensive recycled products for their homes.
"Attendees are introduced to some very useful, inexpensive home products that can last them a lifetime. Our response from customers after the show is always tremendous," he says. "They call us to find out how they can get Bird-X SPIKES and TotaSak for family and friends. We're sure that the introduction of The Wedge Downspout Screens and Gutter Scoops to this year's show will be just as successful."
Illinois Recycling Association Director Mike Mitchell agrees that the home and garden show is the perfect place to inform the public about the variety of valuable recycled products that can save them time and money.
"The recycled products we will be showcasing such as those manufactured by G.A.I.M. are made with durable plastics, have a longer life span and are a fraction of the cost of products produced from wood or stainless steel. A consumer's initial cost will usually be the extent of their product investment, as long-term maintenance or frequent replacement is rarely necessary," he says. "Recycled products are as equally beneficial for the consumers as they are for our environment. When materials are collected in community recycling programs, they are reprocessed and returned to the marketplace in the form of durable, attractive products everyone can use.”
